At Perennial Crops Nursery, we are passionate about providing gardeners and farmers with the highest quality perennial crops and plants. Our nursery was founded in 2016 with the vision of promoting sustainable agriculture and helping people grow their own food for years to come.

What sets us apart is our focus on carefully selected and meticulously grown perennial crops like fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, grape vines, and other long-lived edible plants. We believe perennials are the key to transforming agriculture from an extractive system to a regenerative, carbon-capturing powerhouse.

Our professionals bring decades of combined experience in horticulture, permaculture design, and regenerative growing practices. We are dedicated to researching and cultivating diverse plant varieties that thrive in our region’s climate. From rare heritage fruit trees to cutting-edge cultivars, our plants are grown with care to ensure healthy, productive crops for your gardens or farm.

Tanner Radig, La Plata MO

31166 Ferrier Lane, La Plata, MO 63549 1 (563) 676-1736 ~ Tanner Radig perennialcropsnursery@gmail.com Tanner Radig started growing perennial crops over a decade ago after becoming fascinated with the benefits of perennials over annuals. The decimation of a staple potato crop was another prompt to diversify and build a more resilient food system for sustenance. While diving into alternative crops it quickly became apparent that to plant at the scale necessary for sustenance it was only economically feasible to become a producer of these plants. It was also necessary to make alternative crops accessible to others. Tanner has been working with non-profits and land-based community projects for over a decade now, helping to plan, plant, provide germplasm, organize, and educate around establishing decomodified perennial food systems in the Midwest and Southern US. Though based in IL/IA in the beginning of this work, he has re-located to Northeast Missouri propagating a nursery, developing a homestead, and establishing a germplasm repository through perennial crops trials. He is now located at Bear Creek Community Land Trust, where his vision of developing decommodified village-scale agroecological food systems, while collaborating with other land-based projects is starting to sprout into more food forests, food prairies, and food savannas every year.

Patrick Martin, Lafayette TN

8967 Galen Road, Lafayette, TN 37083 1 (615) 670-3531 ~ Patrick Martin patrick.perennialcropsnursery@gmail.com At the age of 8 Patrick started his first agricultural endeavor- selling peppers from plants he had grown from seed. As he grew up he continued to grow food while observing the continual shift towards industrialization and globalization in our food sources. At 20 he made the first payment towards land that would become The Garden , an off-grid, intentional community land project. Today Patrick is one of the stewards of The Garden, and helps to operate The People’s Project 501c3 (peoplesproject.earth), a nonprofit which has participated in establishing community gardens and food forests. He organizes free events at The Garden centered around educational workshops, and is always happy to meet fellow plant enthusiasts. If you pick up plants from him you are sure to get a glimpse at a piece of perennial fruit and nut paradise him and others have been cultivating the past couple decades. He grows and provides Perennial Crops Nursery with an ever growing variety of medicinal herbs, perennial vegetables, fruit trees, nut trees, and berry plants. Some exciting new things he’s added to our inventory this last year are Hardy Jujube, Hardy Almond, St. John’s Wort, Hybrid Persimmon, Yaupon Holly, Prickly Pear, Flying Dragon Hardy Lemon, Hardy Fig, Sunchokes, Elephant Garlic, and much more!
